How contradicting that such an inspirational group of people are somehow not inspiring at all…

In the attempt to inspire the make you look at yourself and install doubt rather the inspiration.

Is not a creative mind required in order to recognise creativity? If so, how and when does creativity turn into inspiration and how does inspiration trigger skill (if at all?)

At this moment all this inspiration is confusing; pushing me to find my own creativity and skill, spiralling me into a world of questions:

Do I have any creativity? Do I have any skill give my creativity a voice, a face? Would others recognise in me what I see in them? What if recognition is what I lack rather then skill and creativity?

Or is what I really lack, the confidence to no longer be shielded and blinded?

For now inspiration is not very inspiring but very very tiring…

no matter where we go and no matter who we meet, people aways seem to disappoint us in one way or another.

Lately though I’ve been wondering to what extent people are actually disappointing me or whether I may have had expectations I was unaware of and set the bar to high for others…hence creating a self-fulfilling prophecy of people disappointing me.

I think there is a bit of truth in both.

I know I set the bar high for myself and never thought or expected others to think the way I do.. yet somehow some people seem to fail at even the slightest expectations or query.

What amazes me most is that though it’s generally imprinted in me that people suck and will hurt you that even today I still am surprised and slightly peeved when someone disappoints me.. which brings me to the next question: do I just give up or do I let go?

Accepting that people disappoint you sounds sad yet feels easier then having your trust abused by others and ending up with the short end of the stick every time. (Putting this theory to practice in the workplace seems to work like a charm at the moment)

When to let go is the next question; how many times does one person get to hurt you before you let go? (The religious ones would state that we’re being tested.. my blunt response to that would be “screw you, I have nothing to prove so why take a test?!)

So how to go on?

For now my answer would be: ‘don’t give out what you are not prepared to lose, and give people at least one chance.. for the rest; trust yourself and your instinct. Though I questioned it before, your instinct will tell you when it’s time to go.

Is it faith, determination, free will? Is there a defining factor at all?

So far I have yet to regret any choice I have made or any path I have followed; the goal however is ever unclear. So How does one know when they get there, provided that they get there?

Some seek refuge in religion some in philosophy, some don’t seek refuge at all.

Though wandering does not define being lost, how does one recognise the difference?

How much wandering does one do before they discover they are actually lost or when does one discover they are not lost while wandering?

I do not believe to be lost on most days, however since I don’t have a clear destination either I can’t help but wonder if my wandering is a blind journey with no destination or that my destination has yet to become clear to me.

Each journey reveils more information and teaches great lessons, they also provide answers to questions not yet considered.

Thankful as I may be for each lesson learned and each question answered; I am still in anticipation of that one big answer:

Am I lost or merely wandering???

The spread of HIV and Aids in Africa should be tackled through fidelity and abstinence and not by condoms, Pope Benedict XVI has said.

Speaking to African bishops at the Vatican, the Pope described HIV/Aids in Africa as a “cruel epidemic”.

But he told them: “The traditional teaching of the church has proven to be the only failsafe way to prevent the spread of HIV/Aids.”
How can anyone afford to be this naive or ignorant!?!?! This is why I hold the pope as well as the catholic church responsible for the murder of the 600-1000 people in Africa that die of Aids every day.

I understand the pope and church trying to save souls but aren’t the souls you’re trying to collect worthy of a fair shot at life first? Maybe the pope is going for quantity rather then quality in trying to fill heaven with souls.

This is the perfect example on how religion preaches and practices ignorance rather then enlightenment and life education.

Who allowed the pope to be the referee anyway… he doesn’t even take part in the game so why are we allowing him to make up the rules?

In christianity the greates good is supposed to be life so how can they contractdict themselves this way basically telling people ‘screw staying alive just make sure you don’t use condoms’

The use of condoms is not forbidden anywhere in the bible so why is the church preaching otherwise?

This is so enraging and absurd I can’t understand why the pope would harm humanity this way.

Here’s a possible explanation:

‘the film Constantine is real and there is a war going on between heaven and hell and heaven is losing. To strengthen the heavenly army god sent down an angel and told the pope to get many people killed so heaven will have a fully stocked cupboard of souls again. Africa is the supermarket and the souls are on sale… the pope is getting as many as he can asap so that just like the AIG people at the end of the year he will receive a nice bonus…’

How’s that… any other suggestions?

Yesterday it was the Vatican and today it’s the Church of England that made the headlines.

The Church has published two prayers today; one for people who because of the Global financial crises have been made redundant and a prayer for those who remain in the workplace.

Here are some highlights from the prayer for those that are made redundant:

‘Redundant’ – the word says it all – ‘useless, unnecessary, without purpose, surplus to requirements.’

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that in the middle of the sadness, the anger, the uncertainty, the pain,

I can talk to you. Hear me as I cry out in confusion, help me to think clearly, and calm my soul.’

And here for the people that remain at work:

‘Life has changed: colleagues have gone – redundant, out of work. Suddenly, what seemed so secure is now so very fragile.

Lord Jesus, in the midst of this uncertainty, help me to keep going: to work to the best of my ability, taking each day at a time, and taking time each day to walk with you for you are the way, the truth and the life.Amen.

Here are some highlights of my thoughts on the redundancy prayer:

Dear Church of England thank you that in the middle of a global financial crisis we have you to procure some amusement.

Your useless, unnecessary prayer without purpose calms our souls by introducing laughter and clears our mind of confusion as you prove yourself as useless and ridiculous as the Vatican.

Thank you for instead of allowing me to use my time to find a new job you have me wasting my time on prayers like these. Thank you for helping me earn money to pay my bills and buy some food. ( you don’t actually do that? oh, I thought you were actually helping solve problems, my mistake) Amen.

And here some highlights on the other prayer:

‘Life has changed: colleagues have gone – ehhm doesn’t this happen every month?

Suddenly, what people take for granted is now being named fragile and secure?!

Oh Church of England, help people see that working to the best of your ability is something you strive to achieve every day and not just in times of financial uncertainty (unless you pray to be un-employed of course).

Taking each day at a time, and taking time each day to consider how silly religion actually is. For that really is the truth and life.

Amen

This morning’s news had me baffled at the Vatican’s ignorance once more..

The following article was in the news this morning:

‘VATICAN CITY (AFP) — The contraceptive pill is polluting the environment and is in part responsible for male infertility, a report in the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano said Saturday.

The pill “has for some years had devastating effects on the environment by releasing tonnes of hormones into nature” through female urine, said Pedro Jose Maria Simon Castellvi, president of the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations, in the report.

“We have sufficient evidence to state that a non-negligible cause of male infertility in the West is the environmental pollution caused by the pill,” he said, without elaborating further.’

Let’s turn the tables on this analogy:

birth control = less people = less polution?!

doesn’t that just make a lot more sense?

This ‘research’ really sparks a lot of questions:

What’s the environmental effect on urinating while on any prescription medication?

What incense is this researcher on (and what is THAT doing to nature?)

Is it harmful for people around you if you urinate while you are ill?

Is it more dangerous to urinate outside or on a toilet?

Could you get liver disease or drunk if you regularly stand next to a drunk person urinating?

Is the Vatican opposing urinating in general or just urinating by women using birth control?

Isn’t male infertility in the West more likely to be caused by excessive alcohol consumption, bad eating habits and leading stressful lives?

Will urinating while on birth control be the next mortal sin? (I’m sure within the next few years a ‘lost’ scroll from the bible will turn up stating something to that effect.)

ahhh, ignorance is bliss…. (at least for the ignorant)

A man living in Enschede (the Netherlands) tried to sell his 11-year old daughter online.

He had planned to make her ingest GHB and when she would be unconcious he would let the highest bidder have sex with her while he would get paid for it.

Though the story baffles me the outcome of the court case was even more repulsive. The judge stated the behavior to be repulsive he found the man to be ‘not guilty’ According to the judge there is ‘ no solid evidence that the man actually intended his daugter to be abused’ further more since there never really was an actual meeting in which the alleged abuse was to take place there is no crime to be charged.

Did the judge not read the transcript in which the man offers his daughter to the highest bidder? Did the judge forget that the girl is 11 years old? Did the judge forget that GHB is illegal? How solid would this judge like the evidence to be?

The Dutch judicial system has definately outdone itself again!

I went to the supermarket today and bought something only because of the packaging. I was absolutely blown away by it. A famous lollipop manufacturer has changed the packaging of their mini-lollipops to resemble packs of cigarettes. Complete with the warningbar at the bottom. The text on the bottom can lead to some embarrassing moments at the markets.

Picture you at the counter with your child and the child sees the bright coloured package and says ‘ mommy can I have those’ imagine the surprise on your face when you look up to see a package that reads ” Sucking relaxes’ or if you happen to be in Germany the package will read ‘Lick me’ Your child is probably too little to understand why you just turned bright red and bought him the candy without negotiating first.

I’d say the marketeers on this one deserve a raise or a bonus…!
